Fundraising at Shepherdswell Academy
Whole School Fundraising
Our whole school fundraising is going towards developing our schools outdoor learning provisions and experiences. Outdoor learning experiences are extremely important and allows children to learn in an active way, developing the learning skills of enquiry, feedback, reflection, and cooperative learning. We would like to engage with local businesses to support us.
Our next event will be a ‘Break the Rules Day’ on Friday 26th May. More information to follow. We are organising this event to raise money for resources for our school.
If you wish to donate your time, or could please spare a monetary donation, raffle prize or discount to support our school events, then please contact Mrs Williams via the school office.
Mind BLMK
This year we have decided to have a school charity of the year, to enable the children to develop a greater awareness of why we are raising money and the importance of giving back to our local community. So for this academic year we have chosen Mind BLMK.
Mind BLMK works across our communities to support positive mental health and wellbeing. Working closely with a range of partners, they offer a number of activities from their wellbeing centres and local venues to make a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of people in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, and their aim is to make sure that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
We look forward to sharing in a number of events across the year to raise money and awareness for this charity. We hope to welcome someone from Mind BLMK to come and talk to our children soon.
We have raised over £500 so far and our next event will be in the Summer term.
